The throwback has returned today, although it might just be for today. Here’s a song called “Brave” by A-Mei, or 張惠妹的”勇敢”, from 2003! I remember that she was really big back when Britney Spears was releasing stuff like “Hit Me Baby One More Time” and they even looked the same. However, in retrospect, I think that A-Mei’s songs are really songs that will last longer, especially songs like this!

Dear USA,

I really do like burn notice, but I really do hate ads. However, I am willing to turn off my ad-blocker to watch burn notice. I am even willing to sit through 3-5 ad at the beginning. But just so you know, 13 ads is kind of ridiculous. I hear you wonder why people choose to download it, instead of watching it for free on the official website. Most people have one browser. I have four. Three ads before playing on Opera, an infinite ad loop on firefox (my main browser). Firefox is actually a pretty common browser. So please, fix the issue. If you need information to fix the problem, here is what I’m using:

Dell Inspirion 1440
Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
Latest Version of Firefox

If there is anything else you’d like to know, let me know. Because I really want to support burn notice.

Dear Microsoft,

Here’s why I am not satisfied with your product, Microsoft Windows 7 Professional.

Firstly, let’s tackle Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA). Yes, my version of Windows is 100% genuine, downloaded off my school’s MSDN-AA website. This is supposed to m ean I can use Windows without any kinks at all: I can receive updates and use all the functions of Windows I need. Yet, Windows simply will not let me upgrade to SP1. I’ve tried Microsoft’s help site, to no avail. This means that I’m going to have to backup all my data, and completely reinstall my operating system. Judging by the fact that I will be transferring 200+ GB of important data over USB 2.0, this is indeed an inconvenience for having a genuine copy of Windows. Here, I’d like to reiterate that my copy of Windows is 100% genuine. Therefore, I do not expect Windows to tell me that suddenly, my copy of Windows is not genuine three times, because I switched out my battery. To my knowledge, laptop batteries do not transfer any data, but simply provide power to the laptop. Therefore, Windows should not register this as a hardware change. So, if Windows does not recognize this as a hardware change, then why should Windows even react to this at all? Three restarts on a genuine copy of Windows to login. This is ridiculous.

Secondly, I happen to be multilingual. This means, I am able to conduct business in more than one language. Therefore, it puzzles me that I need Windows Ultimate in order to be able to get the same functions (i.e. written tablet input) to be able to conduct business. Yes, I appreciate the fact that, unlike XP, I can now access Microsoft’s Chinese IME without a regional disc. However, I still need to get ultimate in order to change my computer’s native language to Chinese. Why?

Finally, why all the separate versions? With this new Windows Home Basic separation, I’m really starting to think that any and all useful features are squeezed out at the end, basically making them pointless. Why keep doing this then? What’s wrong with delivering a single, quality product.

So, WordPress 3.2.1 has been out for a while, and I FINALLY updated it to the latest version!

..yeah okay this is a useless post. But it took a while because I was trying to figure out why my host and wordpress weren’t liking each other, but then I just went for the manual upgrade so.. yup. All good.
